A new approach to ego

It’s a mistake to see the ego as another part of ourselves, in this way it’ll be difficult to get “rid” of it, maybe it’s impossible because we can’t separate ourselves from “I am” and who we truly are, we need to feel complete with all the parts of ourselves to be able to complete our destiny.

The best approach is to see it as a mode of thinking, a process rather than a “thing” (a part of me), a verb rather than a noun. To be precise it’ll be wiser to say for exemple “I am ego-ing” right now and I need to shift that, just like I am getting nervous right now and I need to calm down.

The difference between the two ways may seem insignificant but using a verb rather than a noun makes it easier, to shift from one state to the other.
If I see the ego as a part of me that I must get rid of, I may create an inner battle I may never win, because it’s like wanting to reject a part of myself or perceive it as an obstacle that I must overcome.
But if I change the approach and see the ego as a mental process I caught myself in from time to time, like being overwhelmed, being tired, or angry, it’s much easier to step out of it any time I want through self-awareness, meditation, or even willingness
