Your Life Is Either a
Courtroom or a Classroom

At any given moment, your inner world operates in one of two places. Either you are standing in a courtroom, judging, prosecuting, and sentencing yourself and others for every mistake, every flaw, every moment that didn’t go as planned. Or you are sitting in a classroom: curious, open, learning from every experience, even the painful ones.
The courtroom is exhausting. It runs on blame of yourself, of others, of life itself. Every setback becomes evidence of your inadequacy. Every failure becomes a verdict. Every difficult relationship becomes a case to be argued, won, or lost. And the judge? It’s that little inner voice you’ve been listening to since childhood, the one that inherited its gavel from old wounds and limiting beliefs. In the courtroom, there is no growth. There is only guilt, resentment, and the endless replay of what should have been different.
The classroom is something entirely different. In the classroom, nothing is wasted. A painful experience becomes a lesson. A difficult relationship becomes a mirror. A mistake becomes a question: what is this teaching me? The classroom doesn’t ask you to be perfect, it asks you to be present, honest, and willing to grow. It doesn’t erase the pain. It transforms it into something more powerful you can use for your advantage.
The shift between the two is not about being naive or pretending that nothing hurts. It’s about choosing where you invest your energy. The courtroom keeps you stuck in the past. The classroom moves you toward who you are becoming. And here is the truth that changes everything: you always get to choose which room you walk into. Not once, but a thousand times a day, in the way you speak to yourself after a mistake, in the way you interpret someone’s silence, in the way you face your own shadow.
So today, ask yourself honestly: which room am I in right now? And if it’s the courtroom, the door to the classroom is always open. You don’t need to be found innocent to walk through it. You just need to be willing to learn.
✨ If this resonated with you, the Inner Freedom Collection Liberté Intérieure was written for this exact moment: Leave the courtroom and step into your own classroom.
